Overlaying blood.

For this tutorial I'm using some pictures Drew sent me awhile ago to add some blood to them :D lol
Hope you don't mind mate, but i didn't have anything else to work with.

1.- Firts you need to find some bloody images... google "blood, vampires, etc." and you will find some really cool bloody pics. save them to your computer.

2.- to begin you need two pics.. your original and the bloody one.. open them both

3.- working on the bloody one, just go to --select, color range, and click on the blood--

4.- copy and paste your selection onto your first picture.
CTRL T to move around and make as big or as small as you need it to be...
erase what you don't need, and keep what you want...

.- After moving around and finding the best place to position your new layer, erase what you don't want... just try to make it look a little more realistic and as if it belong there...
then change layer mode to "overlay"

You will have to duplicate your layer a couple times, and keep on playing with the layer mode..
soft light, hard light and overlay are the lighting that I usually use for blood, but play around and see what you can get.

You are done....

Now to add blood to a room..

1You need two images, the original and a puddle of blood pic... Google it and save anything you like to your computer.

2.- Working on the puddle of blood pic, go to --select, color range-- and select the background (just click on the background)

then CTRL +SHIFT + I to invert your selection , this will select the blood instead of the background.

3.- copy and paste your selection onto your first picture.

4.- CTRL T to move around and make as big or as small as you want.

5.- When you have your second layer where you want it.. erase what you don't need. and change layer mode to overlay.

6.- Open a new bloody pic... it could be the same.. but I like to use different pics.

6.- In your new pic... do the same thing you did with the first bloody pic..

--select, color range, bacground-- then CTRL SHIFT I to inverse selection, then copy and paste it into your original pic.

again CTRL T to move selection.. place it where you need it.
I will place it on the bench, just to make it look like there is blood dripping from it..

8.- Change the mode to overlay and you are done with the chair...

Now do the same thing with the guy, look for a cool bloody pic. to overlay over his body...
and then using some blood brushes add some paint to the floor... just to give the appearance of more blood.

then flatten your image and duplicate layer. change the mode to "soft light" and you are done...
(that will make the room look a little more darker, just to set the mood of the bloody situation)

and now you are done... :P

Overlaying

Click on the pic to read the instructions!

1.- You need two pictures... open your first picture...
this is a picture taken in the sims2 game.. plain and simple

My second picture is a pic. I took while on vacation.

3.- copy and paste second picture onto first picture.

4.- working in our first layer (our original pic)
go to --select-- color range--- and select whatever it is you want to replace...
I usually overlay the sky or the ocean... so this time I choose the sky, I click anywhere on the sky and it will select the whole sky...

4.- Now we move to our second layer (second pic.)
then CTRL + Shift + I to inverse our selection... then CTRL D to delete...
that move will delete everything we didn't select....

We will end up with something like the picture above... we see that our blue sky is gone and now we have some kind of sunset....

5.- Now we just need to play with our lighting, still working in our second layer, just play around with the lighting...
I usually go for soft light or overlay.
this time, a soft light did the trick...

A touch of Color

Click on the pictures to make them bigger !!!

1.- Open your picture...

2.- "Create a new fill or adjustment layer" (the icon is a circle with half white and half black)

After that your picture will be black and white...

It will have to lawyers... the original picture and the fill/adjustment layer

1.- Now using the eraser tool you can erase the Black and white from any parts you want... I erased her hat...( but you can erase as much or as little as you want... you can erase the background and just leave your character in Black and white... or vice versa.)

The erase tool, will only erase the Black and White layer, so don't worry, the original color will still be there once you erase or delete the black and white...

Some times the eraser tool is good for those small places, but if you are trying to erase /delete a big "space" then you should use the "quick selection tool" or any other selection tool you want...

just select what you want then "CTRL D " to delete....

Again, when you delete, you will be deleting the Black and white layer, you don't have to worry about the original picture at all!!!

And you are done!!!

You got your picture with a touch of color!!!

if you want to give your picture a more vintage color...you can always use the Hue/Saturation tool instead of the Black and White!!

Twirl Explosion

1.-Create a new document and fill it up with Black.

2.- Create a new Layer and also fill it with Black

1.- Go to --Filter-- Render--Difference Clouds

1.-Do the ---Difference Clouds--Till you get something like this pictures.... around 6 or 7 times.

1.- Select the Elliptical tool.

2.- Holding SHIFT + ALT create a circle.

1.-Go to --Filter--Distort--Spherize--

2.- Mode = Normal, Amount = 100

1.- Again --Filter--Distort--Spherize

2.- Amount 50.

1.- --Filter--Sharpen--Sharpen

1.- --Select --Inverse--

That will select the whole file..

1.- Press DELETE

2.- CTRL + D to deselect.

The only thing left will be your circle.

Now let's add some color

1.- CTRL + U to get the Hue/Saturation window

Hue = 20
Saturation = 100
Lightness = 0

You can choose any color you like.

Let's adjust the colors a little bit...

1.- --Image--Adjustments--Brightness/Contrast--

make the Contrast 25, it will just darken your picture a little bit.

Now it's time to duplicate our layer..

1.- go to --Layer--Duplicate Layer-- That will open a new window, press ok to duplicate.

Now let's add some more color...

1.- Go to --Select-- Color Range--

That will open a new window..

select "the darkest red color from your pictures" and then pess ok.

That will select the color you chose from your picture.

1.-CTRL + SHIFT + I ... that will select everything else.

2.- Click DELETE and then CTRL+ D to deselect.

You will notice that your layer has changed.

1.- CTRL + T to Transform.

2.- Make it slightly bigger than your first layer.

1.- Once that it's the size you want it, change the "Blending Options" to Linear Dodge.

2.-Duplicate layer...

3.-And working with your new layer, press CTRL + T to transform. I moved it to a 45 degree angle... but you can choose any position you like.

1.- Duplicate layer again

2.- go to --Filter--Blur--Radial Blur--
(that will open a new window)

Amount =100
Method = Zoom
Quality = Best

1.- CTRL + U to open the Hue/Saturation window

2.- Choose the color you want.

1.- Duplicate layer

2.- CTRL + U to change color again.

Do this last step till you are satisfied with your colors.

To add a picture.

Just Copy and Paste the picture you want.

I duplicated my picture and moved it to the opposite corner.

1.-For my top layer I'm using --Filter--Artistic-- Diffuse Glow-- that will add a glow to your picture.

2.- For my second layer, I'm using --Filter--Artistic--Neon Glow-- in a greenish color, you can use any color you like...

To add the TWIRL

1.- Duplicate your very first layer...

2.- then go to --Filter--Distort--Twirl--

use and angle of 999.

Change the Blending options to "Pink Light" and you are done...

You can always add more effects using the "Blending Options" so have fun trying new things...

Warp Speed Effect.

I used this effect for " A Father's Grieve" Poem..
It really comes in handy when you are trying to give a dramatic feeling to your pictures..

and here I will explain how to get that effect!

Let's create a new file/document
and make sure your main color is Black

Once you have your new document go to

filter
render
clouds

Do this for 5 or 6 times, till you get an image like the one above.

When you are ready go to

filter
Pixelate
Mezzotint

that will open a new window

Select Short Strokes and select OK.

You will get something like t his..

Now go to

filter
blur ---Radial blur

A new window will pop up

AMOUNT 100
BLUR METHOD ZOOM
QUALITY BEST

you will end up with something like this...

Now to add color, CTRL U, that will open the Hue/Saturation window.

Make sure the COLORIZE option is selected

and then add the color you like most...

Then copy and paste the picture you will be using for this effect.

CTRL T will allow you to make it as big or as small as you want..

I want my picture as big as my background... so using CTRL T I made it as big as my BG.

Now that we have the background and the picture in the same file, then it's time to blend it together

Let's go to the Blending option located in our Layers section.
let's search for a blending we like...

This time I decided to use Overlay option...

You can see that the blue in this picture is so overpowering, I don't want it that blue. I will duplicate that layer, so I can get the effect I want..

go to Layer
then duplicate layer

after that we will be working with our new layer

You can see in the right, how now we have 3 layers, background, the picture and the new layer we just created..

Now go to the Blending option and select SCREEN option.

That will add more light to your picture, and will get rid of some of the blue...

This is the picture you'll get at the end..

You can play with the Blending options till you get the effect you are searching for...

To mix 2 pictures in one

Open both pictures and put aside the one that you will be using as a background (or main picture)

Now working in our second picture

With the Magnetic Lazo Tool select the image you want to paste into your background

I want to copy my guy so... so I selected him then CTRL C and CTRL V onto the other picture (the background)

Do the same with the girl (using the Magnetic Lazo select her, copy and paste onto the background...

One you have pasted the images into the background

Move them around with the MOVE TOOL to find a perfect place for them.

Once you have decided where to put your images

Select the BRUSH TOOL (pick a 46 in. brush)

Mode Clear

Opacity 39%

One you have selected the BRUSH TOOL

Brush all over your images (Judy and Carl)that will clear them a little bit and create the effect you are looking for

Once you have brushed all over the images its time to finish up the picture

open a new layer

Select the whole picture using the Rectangular Marquee Tool

Go to Edit

Stroke

It will open a new window... make the stroke 15pixels

Edit - stroke 15 pixels -

Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur make it 4.7 pixels

that will create the white frame for your picture

save and you are done!!!

Two Pictures in One

Tutorial to put 2 pictures together

First of all open up 2 pictures that you would like to see together

CTRL A, CTRL C and CTRL V each picture... (That will copy and paste the picture into a new layer)

Divide your picture screen in half; my half is usually 4.1 inches

Now we're working with the New layers we created when we CTRL A, CTRL C and CTRL V the pictures

Working with picture 1

Using the Move tool, center the layer in the left half

(The second half is for the second Pic.)

Working with picture 2

Do the same (move tool) center layer in the right half

Now go to picture 2

Using the Rectangular Marquee tool select the image you want to mix up with the first photo; and CTRL C

Go back to the first photo and CTRL V... you are ready to go, you have two pictures in one...

Using the Move tool you can change places if you want

Now we are just working with one picture

Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool select the first half

Go to Edit - Stroke -

Edit -Stroke- will open up a new little window (width 5px. Color white)

Use this stroke to separate each picture

So we are done with the first half of our picture. Now we do the same with the second half (edit-stroke- 5px and ok)

To create a frame around the whole picture

Open up a new layer

Select everything with the Rectangular Marquee Tool (both pictures as one)

Edit -Stroke- this time make it 15 px. That will create a thicker frame for your picture

After you have the 15 px Stroke in your picture

Go to Filter -Blur -Gaussian Blur-

That will give you the final frame for your picture

That's is the frame I have been using for the Lover...
The Radius I use is 5.8
You can use it thicker or thinner depending on what you need or want.
Also I always use White strokes, but you can change the color of it.

BLACK AND WHITE TUTORIAL

Open the picture you want

Then CTRL U; It will open the Hue/Saturation window

Hue/Saturation Window

Hue "0"
Saturation "100"
Lightness "0"

Once the picture is in black and white

Open up a new layer
Select the picture with the Rectangular Marquee Tool
Go to Edit - Stroke -

When you STROKE a new window will open make it 15px. And Color White the press OK
A white frame will appear in your picture

Once you have the white frame

Go to Filter

Blur
Gaussian Blur

The Gaussian Blur will open a new window make the RADIUS 14.7 and press OK
And then you are done...
You are ready to use your picture as a Memory or a Dream in one of our Stories
